The University of New Hampshire (UNH) School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service while advancing nursing science, healthcare delivery, education, policy, or related fields.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, mentoring students, and developing an active research program. Faculty are expected to conduct original research, secure external funding, publish in peer-reviewed venues, present at conferences, and collaborate across disciplines. Contributions to evidence-based curricula and student preparation for evolving healthcare roles are essential.

UNH is a Carnegie R1 public research university in Durham, NH, near Boston and major healthcare systems. The College of Health and Human Services fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across nursing, social work, occupational therapy, kinesiology, communication sciences, and health policy, with strong community partnerships.

The School of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate programs emphasizing evidence-based practice, leadership, and population health. Faculty engage in research areas such as aging, chronic illness, community health, health systems, policy, workforce development, and technology. A collegial environment supports mentorship, collaboration, and externally funded research.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Research: Develop and sustain a funded research program, publish, present, mentor students, and collaborate.
• Teaching: Deliver courses, supervise clinical/practicum experiences, advise students, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Service: Participate in committees, accreditation, and professional service.
• Clinical (if applicable): Maintain licensure/certification and support community partnerships.

Required qualifications include a research doctorate (PhD or equivalent in nursing or related field), evidence of research productivity (emerging or established depending on rank), and teaching competence. Nursing candidates must be eligible for New Hampshire RN licensure. Preferred areas include geriatrics, public/community health, health policy, or technology integration.

Additional preferred qualifications include a program of research aligned with the National Institutes of Nursing Research’s or National Institutes of Health strategic goals , experience with diverse learners, commitment to inclusive excellence, and engagement with professional organizations. Senior candidates should demonstrate sustained funding, publication, leadership, and mentorship; early-career candidates may have postdoctoral training and mentored research potential.
