The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites
applications for a full time, permanent, Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department
of Nursing beginning August, 2026.
The ideal candidate seeks an academic career in a comprehensive college that emphasizes
teaching and learning in a teacher-scholar model. The successful candidate’s primary
responsibilities will include effective teaching in the classroom and clinical settings. Full-time
teaching load is 24 faculty weighted hours per contract year or approximately 4 courses per
semester. Additional responsibilities include scholarship within the discipline, professional
development, service on committees, and advising.
Qualifications:
Required:
● Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
● Clinical practice and teaching experience across the curriculum in undergraduate and/or
graduate programs.
● Strong track record of scholarship including publications and presentations.
● Preference given to faculty with certification as adult health/medical-surgical nursing,
informatics, maternal child health, leadership, community/public health nursing, or Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred:
● A minimum of one-year full-time faculty level teaching experience.
● Doctorate degree
● A track record of scholarship.
